SCHL•Scholastic agreed to acquire early childhood publisher Cottage Door Press for about $71 million, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. The deal is targeted to close by the end of 2026; Cottage Door reported about $45 million in net revenue for the 12 months ended May 31, 2026.

2. Business and closing
Cottage Door will join Scholastic’s Children’s Book Group, while keeping its publishing team. Luna StoryTime interactive electronic toys will be spun off before closing and are excluded from the acquisition. Closing is targeted by the end of 2026, subject to the Luna separation, third-party consents, new license agreements and approval by one seller’s shareholders.
