Scholastic FY27 Q1 net loss widens 33% to $71.2 million; revenue falls 4% to $216.8 million
SCHL•Scholastic reported a fiscal 2027 first-quarter net loss of $71.2 million, with diluted loss per share of $3.77, as revenue fell 4% to $216.8 million. Operating cash use widened to $94.6 million and free cash flow use to $110.8 million.

Scholastic’s operating loss was $92.2 million, unchanged year over year. CEO Peter Warwick cited book fair bookings ahead of last year, stronger Entertainment production activity, and pressure on Education budgets and spending.
