Scorpio Tankers announces agreements to sell three product tankers and purchase four newbuilding vessels
STNG•Scorpio Tankers agreed to sell three product tankers for a combined $180.5 million and purchase two LR2 tankers and two VLCCs. The LR2s will cost $72.8 million each, and the VLCCs $135 million each.
1. Vessel sales and purchases
Scorpio Tankers agreed to sell STI Dama for $37.5 million, STI Elysees for $70 million and STI Veneto for $73 million. The sales are expected to close before the end of 2026.
2. Newbuilding deliveries
The company agreed to purchase two LR2 tankers for $72.8 million each, with deliveries expected in October-November 2029, and two VLCCs for $135 million each, with deliveries expected in September-October 2028.
