Scotiabank lifts normal course issuer bid to 40 million common shares
BNS•Scotiabank raised its repurchase cap to 40 million common shares, about 3.25% of shares outstanding. The amended program takes effect Oct. 6, 2026, and runs through Apr. 6, 2027, unless shares are bought or it ends early.
1. Revised repurchase program
The Bank of Nova Scotia lifted its normal course issuer bid to repurchase up to 40 million common shares for cancellation. The revised cap equals about 3.25% of the 1,231,433,660 common shares outstanding as of March 24, 2026. The amended program takes effect Oct. 6, 2026, and ends when shares are bought, upon early termination, or on Apr. 6, 2027. The bank had repurchased 13,044,315 shares under the existing program as of Aug. 31, 2026.
