SEALSQ, GlobalFoundries Partner on Certified PQC IP and CryoCMOS Quantum ASICs
LAES•SEALSQ and GlobalFoundries signed a strategic MoU to co-develop certified Post-Quantum Cryptography IP, secure chiplet architectures and CryoCMOS-based quantum computing ASICs leveraging GF’s high-volume semiconductor manufacturing and SEALSQ’s security expertise. The collaboration targets European and U.S. sovereign supply chains with pre-certified PQC building blocks and ultra-low temperature ASIC design.
1. Partnership Overview
SEALSQ and GlobalFoundries have entered a Memorandum of Understanding to co-develop secure semiconductor platforms focusing on Post-Quantum Cryptography, secure chiplet architectures and CryoCMOS-based quantum computing technologies. The MoU leverages GF’s process technology leadership and SEALSQ’s hardware security expertise to build scalable, cost-effective solutions for the quantum era.
2. PQC Security IP Development
The collaboration will co-develop pre-certified Post-Quantum Cryptography security IP hard macros and Chiplet Hardware Security Module components in partnership with GF’s MIPS unit. Target applications include Hardware Security Modules and Secure Enclaves, enabling robust encryption solutions for sensitive data across industries.
3. CryoCMOS Quantum Computing Tech
Building on GlobalFoundries’ Quantum Technology Solutions and SEALSQ’s quantum ASIC design initiatives, the companies will jointly design cryoelectronic ASICs capable of operating at ultra-low temperatures. These CryoCMOS devices aim to deliver the reliability and integration density required for industrial-scale quantum computing systems.
4. Strategic Sovereign Supply Chain Alignment
The partnership aligns with European and U.S. sovereign supply chain objectives by promoting trusted, traceable semiconductor production. Both parties commit to securing critical infrastructure with transparent manufacturing practices and advanced security features to meet national and industrial compliance standards.
