
SEALSQ’s Quantix joint venture will invest €40 million to establish a semiconductor design and personalization center in Murcia, Spain, focusing on cybersecurity, post-quantum technology, AI and RISC-V systems. The facility is expected to create numerous highly qualified technical jobs and bolster SEALSQ’s strategic position in defense, automotive and IoT markets.
On May 26, SEALSQ’s Quantix EDGE Security joint venture, comprising SEALSQ, WISeKey, OdinS and TProtege, announced Murcia as the chosen location for its Semiconductor Design and Personalization Center after assessing 25 applications across 15 municipalities.
The venture plans a €40 million investment dedicated to the design, testing, personalization and security of semiconductors, integrating advanced capabilities in cybersecurity, post-quantum cryptography, AI and RISC-V architectures.
The Murcia site was selected for its fully serviced industrial land, scalable infrastructure, reliable utilities, optimal logistics and strong technical and academic ecosystem supporting R&D&I initiatives.
The center is expected to generate numerous highly qualified technical roles, enhance SEALSQ’s post-quantum and semiconductor product pipeline, and advance European technological autonomy in strategic sectors such as defense, automotive and IoT.
