Seeing Machines secures $14.1M upfront payment and unveils 3D Cabin Mapping at CES 2026
Seeing Machines will receive a $14.1 million upfront payment this month after renegotiating a royalty deal with a major automaker, replacing four years of scheduled payments. The company will debut its 3D Cabin Perception Mapping at CES 2026, showcasing its Driver and Occupant Monitoring System integrated in its largest automotive program.
1. Accelerated $14.1 Million Cash Inflow from Renegotiated Royalty Deal
Seeing Machines has secured an immediate cash payment of $14.1 million this month after renegotiating the terms of a long-running royalty agreement with a major automotive customer. Under the revised arrangement, the payment replaces royalty installments that were scheduled to be distributed gradually over the next four years, providing the company with a significant liquidity boost. This upfront inflow strengthens Seeing Machines’ balance sheet, increases its short-term working capital by approximately 20%, and reduces future revenue recognition variability tied to vehicle production volumes.
2. Launch of 3D Cabin Perception Mapping at CES 2026
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Seeing Machines will unveil its next-generation 3D Cabin Perception Mapping solution, which delivers high-fidelity, real-time monitoring of all occupants in a vehicle. The system leverages advanced AI algorithms and embedded optics to track occupant presence, posture and attention, enabling automakers to achieve new safety performance benchmarks. The technology is integrated with the company’s existing Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (DMS/OMS) and has already entered production as part of Seeing Machines’ largest automotive program to date. Demonstrations will include live in-vehicle trials and collaborative exhibits with partners such as Valeo, Magna and Texas Instruments.
