September pending home sales fall 7.3%
SPY•The pending home sales index fell 7.3% in September to 66.0, compared with economists’ forecast for a 0.5% decline. The index was down 11.3% from September 2025.

The National Association of Realtors’ seasonally adjusted index of pending sales of existing U.S. homes fell to 66.0 in September from 71.2 in August. The index declined across all four regions: the Northeast to 59.0, the Midwest to 67.3, the South to 79.2 and the West to 49.3.
