Serve launches robot deliveries in Australia in first international push
SERV•Serve Robotics is launching its sidewalk robot delivery service in Australia, its first international market, in partnership with DoorDash. The company plans to invest about $500,000 in the region over the next year, starting in a Gold Coast neighborhood.
1. Gold Coast rollout
DoorDash customers in the Gold Coast can opt in through the app for robot delivery from participating restaurants. Serve Robotics has established an operations depot at Griffith University for stationing, charging, dispatching and maintaining robots, and said it plans to add more local restaurants in the coming weeks.
2. First market abroad
“This is the first time we've taken Serve beyond the US, and the Gold Coast is the right place to start. It has the walkable neighbourhoods this technology is built for,” Serve CEO Ali Kashani said. Serve has more than 2,000 delivery robots serving over 40 cities across the US. It has partnered with DoorDash in the US since 2025 and earlier this year also tapped Grubhub, after its years-long tie-up with Uber Eats fell through.
