SES AI expands Chungju output capacity to 1 million drone battery pouch cells a year
SES•SES AI expanded its Chungju, South Korea, battery operation to about 1 million Li-Metal and Li-ion pouch cells of annual capacity, targeting high-performance drone batteries, including NDAA-compliant cells. South Korea raised the export-control energy-density threshold for secondary batteries to 500 Wh/kg.

SES AI expanded its Chungju, South Korea, battery operation to about 1 million Li-Metal and Li-ion pouch cells of annual capacity. The output targets high-performance drone batteries, including NDAA-compliant pouch cells for customers in the U.S. and other markets.
2. Export-control threshold
South Korea raised the export-control energy-density threshold for secondary batteries to 500 Wh/kg, easing compliance for Korea-made cells.
