Shell Energy Europe Signs 9-Year PPA for 573MW Race Bank Offshore Wind

Shell Energy Europe inked a power purchase agreement until 2035 to supply Evolve Energy with 112 GWh annually from the 573 MW Race Bank offshore wind farm, delivering over 1 TWh total. The deal supports renewable supply to more than 80 industrial and commercial customers via a basket supply model.

1. PPA Agreement Terms

Shell Energy Europe agreed to supply Evolve Energy with 112 GWh per year from the 573 MW Race Bank offshore wind farm under a contract running through 2035. Over its duration the PPA will deliver more than 1 TWh of wind-generated electricity.

2. Delivery and Customer Model

Evolve Energy will distribute the offshore wind power to over 80 industrial and commercial customers using a basket supply model, which allows organizations to pool demand and access multiple renewable sources under one contract.

3. Strategic Importance for Shell

This agreement marks Shell’s continued expansion in renewable PPAs following its 2025 Nordsee One deal and provides long-term revenue visibility and support for its strategy to link large-scale clean generation with corporate decarbonization efforts.
