Shell Readies Recapitalization of Brazilian Raízen JV, Signs LNG MoU with Metlen
Shell is preparing to increase its financial support through a recapitalization of distressed Brazilian sugar and ethanol JV Raízen to stabilize its balance sheet. Shell also signed a memorandum of understanding with Metlen to collaborate on LNG supply cooperation.
1. Raízen Recapitalization Plans
Shell, as the healthier joint-venture partner in Brazilian sugar and ethanol producer Raízen, is preparing to inject additional capital into a recapitalization to shore up liquidity and address the company’s debt obligations.
2. LNG Supply MoU with Metlen
Shell and Metlen have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore joint LNG supply arrangements, combining Shell’s midstream capabilities with Metlen’s distribution network to enhance gas delivery in strategic markets.
