Shimadzu partners with Abbott to integrate LC-MS automation with AlinIQ AMS lab informatics
ABT•Shimadzu began developing and validating an LC-MS automation solution with Abbott’s AlinIQ AMS at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. The project uses Shimadzu’s CLAM-2040 CL sample-prep module, LCMS-8060 CL mass spectrometer and reagent kits linked to AlinIQ AMS.
1. Development begins in Melbourne
Shimadzu and Abbott began developing and validating an LC-MS automation solution with Abbott’s AlinIQ AMS at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. The integration targets streamlined core-lab workflows, faster turnaround and improved reliability for clinical testing, using Shimadzu’s CLAM-2040 CL sample-prep module, LCMS-8060 CL mass spectrometer and reagent kits linked to AlinIQ AMS.
2. Clinical diagnostics plans
The project aligns with Shimadzu’s June 4, 2026 plan to expand clinical diagnostics as a core growth driver through global partnerships.
