Court order reportedly suspends environmental licenses
Sigma Lithium faced reports of a preliminary judicial ruling allegedly suspending its environmental licenses, a move it said was issued without due process.
The company said operations continued and that it had not received any legal notice tied to the ruling.
Legal defense was set to begin when courts resumed regular operations on Sept. 8.
The ruling reportedly included a potential daily fine, contingent on a final adverse decision following full legal process and appeals.
Sigma disputed media reports that the ruling would override its TAC agreement with Minas Gerais state authorities.
