U.S.-listed shares of Sigma Lithium SGML.N fell 9.9% to $11.16 in premarket trading after a Brazilian court ordered the suspension of environmental licenses and mining activities at the miner's Grota do Cirilo mine.
The judge ruled on Friday that the company's project was within the direct area of influence of the Bau Quilombola community.
Sigma Lithium said it would begin its legal defense on Tuesday, and that operations remain unaffected.
Grota do Cirilo is Sigma's only productive asset.
As of the last close, SGML stock was down 6% year to date.
