SLABSLAB

At CES 2026, Silicon Labs launched its Simplicity SDK for Zephyr, a QA-vetted enterprise distribution with full support channels. The GA release adds Bluetooth LE support on popular SiLabs SoCs and combined Wi-Fi+Bluetooth on select devices, plus streamlined migration and onboarding to speed time-to-market.

1. Silicon Labs Launches Simplicity SDK for Zephyr

On January 5, 2026 at CES in Las Vegas, Silicon Labs announced general availability of its Simplicity SDK for the Zephyr real-time operating system. As a Platinum member of the Zephyr project, the company delivers a Silicon Labs–maintained distribution of Zephyr that has passed its in-house QA processes, along with wireless coverage at launch: Bluetooth Low Energy support across four popular EFR32 SoCs and combined Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth on two multi-protocol devices. The enterprise-grade SDK includes full access to Silicon Labs' support channels, a dedicated Getting Started guide that reduces initial setup to three commands, and a low-friction migration path that enables developers to port existing Zephyr applications with under 5% firmware changes, accelerating time-to-market.

2. Comprehensive IoT Demonstrations and Ecosystem Engagement at CES

Silicon Labs’ presence at CES 2026 featured more than ten live technical demonstrations, including Bluetooth Channel Sounding and single-chip wireless motor control powered by on-device AI/ML. Company engineers delivered six presentations across major events hosted by the Z-Wave Alliance, Thread Group and Tuya Smart, underscoring Silicon Labs’ leadership in open-source RTOS integration and low-power wireless. Partner showcases included booths for AWS, Powercast, Durin, and AIZIP, where Silicon Labs technology was embedded in eight connected devices. With operations in 16 countries, Silicon Labs continues to drive secure, scalable and energy-efficient solutions for smart home and industrial IoT markets.
