Silver miners drop as precious metal prices ease
HL•Silver miners' shares fell as silver prices declined 1.2%. U.S.-listed Hecla Mining shares fell 2.6%, while First Majestic suspended its NAFTA arbitration against Mexico over a legacy tax dispute.
1. Mining shares fall
Shares of Silvercorp Metals, Endeavour Silver and First Majestic fell between 3.3% and 4.3% as silver prices eased. U.S.-listed Hecla Mining shares fell 2.6%. Separately, First Majestic suspended its NAFTA arbitration against Mexico over a legacy tax dispute. Silver was down 16.3% year to date.
