Silver miners fall on higher oil prices

U.S.-listed silver miners fell premarket, tracking weakness in precious metals. Hecla Mining shares fell 5.4% and Coeur Mining shares declined about 6%; Endeavour Silver and Silvercorp Metals each slipped around 5.5%. Physical Silver Shares ETF and iShares Silver Trust both fell about 5%.
Spot silver fell 4.7% to $61.25 per ounce as higher oil prices stoked inflation fears, bolstering the case for elevated interest rates. Crude oil rebounded more than 2% on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump rejected an Iranian peace deal to resolve the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
