Silver miners gain as metal prices edge higher
SLV•Silver miners rise in premarket trading
U.S.-listed shares of silver miners gained in premarket trading, tracking higher prices of the metal.
- Spot silver was up 2.3% at $59.3/ounce, as a pause in strikes between U.S. and Iranian forces dragged crude oil prices lower, helping ease inflation concerns and worries about the risk of higher interest rates in a week where policymakers at the Fed are due to meet.
- Hecla Mining rose 2.6% and Coeur Mining rose 2.9%.
- Canadian miners Endeavour Silver, Silvercorp Metals and Wheaton Precious Metals were up 3.8%, 3.1% and 2.2%, respectively.
- Abrdn Physical Silver Shares ETF added 2% and iShares Silver Trust added 1.9%.
