Silver Storm Launches 6,000m Underground Drilling to Boost La Parrilla Resources
Silver Storm Mining has initiated a 6,000-metre underground drilling program at its La Parrilla Silver Mine Complex, allocating 3,500 m to Quebradillas, 1,000 m to San Marcos and 1,500 m to Rosarios zones. The program aims to expand Indicated and Inferred resources ahead of a Q2 2026 restart, with 4,000 m follow-up planned.
1. Silver Storm Qualifies for OTCQX Best Market
Silver Storm Mining Ltd. has achieved qualification to trade on the OTCQX® Best Market, upgrading from the OTCQB® Venture Market. Effective today, its common shares will begin trading in the U.S. under the symbol “SVRSF,” while continuing to trade on the TSX Venture Exchange (symbol “SVRS”) and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (symbol “SVR”). To meet OTCQX standards, the company satisfied rigorous financial thresholds, adhered to best-practice corporate governance requirements and demonstrated full compliance with U.S. and Canadian securities laws. Management expects the upgrade to enhance visibility among U.S. investors, improve share liquidity and support the planned restart of operations at the La Parrilla Silver Mine Complex in Q2 2026.
2. Advanced Drilling Campaign Underway at La Parrilla
Silver Storm has initiated a 6,000 metre underground drilling program across three legacy mine sites at La Parrilla to expand its Indicated and Inferred resource base. At Quebradillas, 3,500 metres will target extensions of the C460 Zone (460 m strike, 500 m vertical, thickness up to 8.5 m) and four sulphide-bearing fault veins. A further 1,000 metres at San Marcos will test near-surface oxide mineralization (700 m strike, 350 m vertical, thickness up to 17 m) and the deeper C1100 sulphide zone (500 m strike, 430 m vertical, thickness up to 1.5 m). The Rosarios program allocates 1,500 metres to delineate central and western extensions of the WNW-striking Rosarios Zone (1.75 km strike, 900 m vertical, thickness up to 14 m) and five subparallel breccia-hosted RRFW structures. The company has proposed an additional 4,000 metres of follow-up drilling, with assay results to be released upon receipt.
3. Strategic Growth Outlook and Project Portfolio
With the OTCQX qualification and drilling momentum, Silver Storm is positioned to accelerate its growth strategy. The company’s portfolio includes the fully acquired La Parrilla Complex—comprising a 2,000 tpd mill, five underground mines and an open pit that produced 34.3 million silver-equivalent ounces between 2005 and 2019—and the San Diego Project, one of Mexico’s largest undeveloped silver assets. Management plans to initiate seven surface exploration programs in 2026 across targets such as Rosarios–C340 West Extension and San Marcos North, further bolstering the company’s long-term value proposition for investors.
