Sinopec joined partners at the International CCUS Technology Conference 2026 in Astana to launch a low-carbon energy cooperation initiative.
The initiative targets tighter cross-border alignment on CCUS technology standards, deeper professional exchanges, and broader deployment partnerships.
The conference drew over 230 participants to discuss CO2 capture, geological storage, mineralization, CCUS hubs, business models, and policy frameworks.
Sinopec highlighted a 100-km dense-phase CO2 pipeline, a 1 million-metric-ton-per-year integrated CCUS project, and a 10 million-metric-ton hub study.
