SK Telecom has signed a three-party MOU with Supermicro and Schneider Electric to develop pre-fabricated modular AI data center solutions, integrating GPU servers with power and cooling infrastructure. The model will accelerate deployment timelines, lower upfront investments, and boost cost efficiency and scalability for global hyper-scalers.

1. Three-Party MOU for AI Data Centers

On March 3, SK Telecom signed a memorandum of understanding with Supermicro and Schneider Electric to co-develop an integrated solution for AI data center deployment. The agreement focuses on a pre-fabricated modular approach that combines AI computing servers with power and cooling systems into single modules.

2. Advantages of Pre-Fabricated Modular Model

The pre-fabricated modules enable building-block construction, significantly shortening timelines compared with conventional steel-reinforced concrete builds. This approach also addresses supply bottlenecks, allows phased capacity additions as demand grows, and improves cost efficiency by reducing upfront capital outlays.

3. Partner Roles and Target Markets

SK Telecom will leverage its AI data center operational expertise, Supermicro will provide high-performance GPU servers optimized for varied AI workloads, and Schneider Electric will handle MEP infrastructure design and construction. The collaboration targets global hyper-scalers seeking scalable, cost-effective AI infrastructure solutions.
