Sky Quarry’s Foreland Refinery in Nevada will commence July operations with 10,000 barrels of on-site inventory and 100,000-barrel storage capacity. Nevada’s only operating refinery aims to capitalize on shrinking Western U.S. refining capacity and drive cash flow through refining margins.
Sky Quarry is preparing to start operations at its Foreland Refinery in Ely, Nevada, in July, entering the production phase with 10,000 barrels of crude and in-process inventory on-site and more than 100,000 barrels of storage capacity to support initial throughput and operational flexibility.
As Nevada’s only operating refinery, Foreland stands to benefit from recent closures and capacity reductions at Western U.S. facilities, positioning Sky Quarry to meet regional demand for diesel, gasoline, VGO, naphtha and asphalt while reducing the state’s reliance on imported fuel.
With refinery operations about to commence, Sky Quarry’s management is shifting emphasis from infrastructure repair and capital raises to driving throughput, capturing refining margins, generating cash flow and strengthening the balance sheet to deliver long-term shareholder value.
