SLB expands production and recovery portfolio with VIEC acquisition

SLB completed the acquisition of Sulzer’s Vessel Internal Electrostatic Coalescer (VIEC) technology to expand its production and recovery portfolio.

VIEC targets aging, high water-cut assets by improving oil-water separation, raising processing capacity, boosting hydrocarbon recovery and lowering treatment costs.

The system can cut water content to below 1% in a single treatment stage, supporting debottlenecking without major facility modifications.

The technology is suitable for new installations or retrofits across onshore and offshore operations, with existing global deployments.
