Inter.link acts as general contractor, and EdgeOps runs the DWDM layer, using Smartoptics’ SoSmart suite for wavelength provisioning and fault localization.

Partnership and project scope

Smartoptics partnered with BIK, Arista, Inter.link and EdgeOps to build ALPSiX, Carinthia’s first internet exchange, operated by DE-CIX.

The project targets local peering to keep regional traffic in Carinthia, lowering ISP costs and positioning the region for data-center growth.

Smartoptics equipment and network role

Smartoptics supplies DWDM equipment, including ROADMs and muxponders, to support 400G aggregation and scalable expansion across new points of presence.
