Smithfield Foods cuts its annual forecasts
SFD•Smithfield lowers sales and profit outlook
Aug. 11 (Reuters) - Smithfield Foods SFD.O cut its annual total sales and its annual adjusted operating profit forecasts on Tuesday, hurt by weak consumer demand for its pork products amid challenging macroeconomic environment.
The company now expects fiscal 2026 sales to be roughly flat, compared with its prior expectations of low-single-digit growth.
It also expects adjusted operating profit between $1.23 billion and $1.38 billion, compared with prior forecast of $1.33 billion to $1.48 billion.
