Smucker Restructures: CFO Role Expanded, Chief Supply Officer Named, COO Position Eliminated

J.M. Smucker Co. promoted Tucker Marshall to Executive Vice President overseeing Frozen Handheld, Snacks and U.S. sales and elevated Rob Ferguson to Chief Product Supply Officer for Coffee and Pet. Jill Penrose was named People and Administrative Officer after the company cut its COO role and Mark Smucker resumed President title.

1. Major Executive Promotions

Tucker Marshall, formerly Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, adding strategic oversight of Frozen Handheld products, Snacks and U.S. sales to his financial duties. Rob Ferguson, previously Senior Vice President and General Manager of Coffee and Procurement, now serves as Chief Product Supply Officer and Executive Vice President of Coffee, Pet and Away From Home. Jill Penrose moves from Chief People and Company Services Officer to Chief People and Administrative Officer, taking on corporate strategy and chief of staff responsibilities in addition to her existing oversight of HR, communications and corporate relations.

2. Organizational Restructuring and Reporting Lines

The company eliminated its Chief Operating Officer role, leading to John Brase’s departure. Mark Smucker has reassumed the title of President, now serving as CEO, President and Chair of the Board. Tucker Marshall, Rob Ferguson and Jill Penrose will report directly to Smucker, alongside Chief Legal Officer Jeannette Knudsen and newly appointed Chief Marketing Officer Katie Williams.

3. Additional July Leadership Changes

Effective July 27, Tim Wayne will transition from Senior Vice President and General Manager of Away From Home and International to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Coffee and Away From Home. Robert Crane, currently Senior Vice President and Head of Sales and Commercialization, will become Senior Vice President, Head of Sales and International, adding responsibility for the International business.
