Sohu.com posted total revenue of $141.0 million in the first quarter, representing a 4% increase from $136.0 million a year earlier. The company’s adjusted net loss narrowed to $4 million, or $0.16 per ADS, compared with a $16 million loss in the first quarter of 2025.
2. Gaming and Marketing Segments
Online gaming revenue climbed 6% year-over-year to $125.0 million, offsetting an 8% drop in marketing services revenue to $13.0 million. Strong game content and targeted operational refinements were cited as key drivers behind the gaming segment’s performance.
3. Cash Reserves and Share Buybacks
As of March 31, Sohu.com held approximately $1.2 billion in cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments and long-term time deposits. The company repurchased about 8.7 million ADSs at a cost of roughly $116 million through May 13 under its ongoing buyback program.
4. Second-Quarter Outlook
For the second quarter, Sohu.com expects online gaming revenue between $104 million and $114 million, with a midpoint of $109 million, and marketing services revenue of $13 million to $14 million. The company forecasts adjusted and GAAP net losses of $15 million to $25 million for the period.
