SOPHiA GENETICS, MSK to Launch Hub with 2.5M Ai Cases and 150K Sequenced Samples
SOPH•SOPHiA GENETICS announced an MOU with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to form a joint venture leveraging SOPHiA DDM™—which has analyzed over 2.5 million cases—and MSK’s NGS program, which has sequenced over 150,000 tumor samples. The hub aims to accelerate multimodal precision oncology discoveries for patients and biopharma partners globally.
1. Joint Venture Formation
SOPHiA GENETICS and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture that leverages their respective strengths in diagnostics and artificial intelligence to build a global precision medicine hub.
2. Platform and Data Contributions
The venture will combine SOPHiA DDM™, which has analyzed over 2.5 million cases since 2014, with MSK’s in-house next-generation sequencing program that has sequenced more than 150,000 tumor samples, integrating multimodal genomic and clinical data.
3. Strategic Implications
The hub aims to accelerate the translation of multimodal oncology discoveries into clinical care for patients worldwide and provide biopharma partners with infrastructure for companion diagnostics, clinical algorithm development, and evidence generation.
