Sound Financial net income rises 22.7% to $2.5 million in Q2 FY26

- Sound Financial Bancorp posted Q2 net income of $2.5 million, up 22.7%, lifting diluted EPS to $0.98.
- Net interest income climbed 3.6% to $9.6 million as net interest margin widened 7 basis points to 3.74%.
- Provision swung to a $223,000 release from a $170,000 expense, partly offset by a 6% rise in noninterest expense to $8.13 million.
- Total noninterest income rose 27.6% to $1.43 million, driven by a $119,000 mortgage servicing rights fair-value gain versus an $80,000 loss.
- The balance sheet shrank to $1.07 billion at June 30 as deposits fell 1.9% to $930.9 million; nonperforming assets increased 32.3% to $8.1 million.
