Southern California Edison Wildfire Program Exceeds 3,800 Claims and $730M in Offers
EIX•Southern California Edison’s Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program has drawn over 3,800 claims from almost 11,700 individuals, trusts and entities. SCE has issued 2,100 offers totaling nearly $730 million and paid out about $300 million to almost 2,000 claimants, with the program running through November 30, 2026.
1. Claim Submissions Surge
Over 3,800 claims have been submitted under Southern California Edison’s Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program, representing nearly 11,700 individuals, trusts and entities affected by the Eaton Fire. Approximately 31% of these claims were filed by attorneys or authorized representatives, reflecting strong legal community involvement. Attendees at the community forum primarily sought details on eligibility and submission processes.
2. Offers and Payments Issued
SCE has issued 2,100 compensation offers totaling almost $730 million to more than 5,100 claimants and has paid out roughly $300 million to nearly 2,000 claimants. Fast Pay offers are delivered within 35 days on average, with payments made within 30 days of satisfying settlement conditions. Claimants with complex cases can opt for a Detailed Review to reassess their offers.
3. Program Timeline and Procedures
The voluntary program remains open until November 30, 2026, and participation does not waive claimants’ rights to pursue litigation or insurance claims. Offers include a Direct Claim Premium to cover additional expenses, such as pet medical care. SCE continues to engage the community to ensure claimants understand their recovery options and process timelines.
