2. Record Distributed-Generation Solar Procurement

Georgia Power, a Southern Company subsidiary, awarded 16 distributed-generation solar contracts totaling 70 MW under its 2024 RFP—its largest DG procurement to date. Combined with 12 prior contracts adding 41 MW, this brings new DG solar to 110 MW. Approved in the 2022 Integrated Resource Plan, the program plans two more RFPs targeting 100+ MW in 2026 and 2027, with project online dates by 2028 to support growth toward a 10,000 MW renewable target by 2032.
