Southwest Airlines reset executive pay terms effective Aug. 15, 2026, lifting CEO Bob Jordan’s base salary to $1.23 million.
- Jordan’s long-term incentive target was set at 1,200% of base salary.
- His short-term incentive target was set at 200%.
- Compensation benchmarks were shifted to the average of American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines peer data from their 2026 proxy statements.
- Other named executives’ base salaries were set at $815,000 for COO Andrew Watterson; $805,000 for CFO Tom Doxey and two other EVPs.
- Long-term incentive targets for those executives were set at 500% of base salary; short-term incentive targets were set at 150% for Watterson and 135% for the others.
