Southwest Airlines launched its Week of WOW sale from June 8 through June 11, offering up to 40% off base fares on more than 20 million seats for travel August 4 through December 16. Customers can apply code FLYWOW to discounted one-way fares on key nonstop routes such as Baltimore-Orlando and Dallas-Las Vegas.
2. Expanded Travel Offers
The promotion extends to rental cars with up to 25% off base rates plus 1,200 Rapid Rewards points on two-day or longer rentals, 2X points on cruises through December 31, 2027, and savings up to $500 on vacation packages for two, including two free checked bags per booking.
3. Oil Price Headwinds
Rising oil prices have triggered a sector-wide warning that has pushed airline stocks lower, raising concerns over higher fuel expense. This trend threatens to erode Southwest's operating margins and could dampen profit forecasts for upcoming quarters.
