Sovereign Metals lifts Kasiya rutile resources 32% to 20.3 Mt

SVMSVM

Sovereign Metals increased Kasiya rutile resources to 2.1 billion tonnes at 0.96% rutile, delivering 20.3 Mt of contained rutile and 20.0 Mt of graphite. Measured and Indicated rutile rose 32% to 16.1 Mt, accounting for 77% of the resource base and marking the first Measured classification ahead of feasibility study.

1. Resource Upgrade Details

Sovereign Metals delivered a significant upgrade to the Kasiya rutile-graphite project, expanding total rutile resource to 2.1 billion tonnes at 0.96% grade, equating to 20.3 Mt of contained rutile, alongside 20.0 Mt of graphite. This positions Kasiya as the world’s largest natural rutile deposit by contained metal.

2. Confidence and Classification

The upgrade increased Measured and Indicated contained rutile by 32% to 16.1 Mt, now representing 77% of the total resource base. For the first time the project includes a defined Measured resource, expected to underpin the initial six years of planned mining operations.

3. DFS Progress and Next Steps

The enhanced resource confidence is a key milestone ahead of completion of the definitive feasibility study, which will support detailed project planning, financing negotiations and offtake discussions. Sovereign aims to finalize the DFS in the coming months to secure funding and strategic partnerships.

4. Market Position and Outlook

Kasiya’s scale and near-surface geometry position it to address a tightening global rutile market, where demand is forecast to grow around 3% annually against a supply decline of approximately 7% per year. This strategic outlook strengthens the project’s appeal to industrial and defense sectors reliant on titanium feedstock.
