1. Record highs, narrow rally
The S&P 500 broke out of its recent trading range Tuesday and closed at its 28th record high of 2026; the Nasdaq Composite also set a record, its 24th of the year. 2. Levels traders are watching
E-mini S&P 500 futures were down about 0.4% ahead of Wednesday's open. The index's first support area was identified at 7,816–7,782; a break below 7,782 could signal a deeper pullback. Above Tuesday's intraday peak of 7,844.52, the article identifies resistance near 7,900 and the 8,000 level as potential targets. Traders were also watching rising crude prices, a Treasury auction and the release of the Federal Reserve's latest meeting minutes.
