Margin improvement was driven primarily by growth and margin expansion in the Ratings, Indices and Market Intelligence divisions, the company said.
CEO Martina Cheung said the company posted record results in its Ratings and Indices businesses and saw continued rapid adoption and expansion of its AI solutions.

Q2 results beat estimates on divisional growth
S&P Global said second-quarter revenue rose 10% and beat analyst expectations, while adjusted earnings per share also topped estimates, rising 23% year over year.
The company repurchased $500 million in shares in the quarter and expects more than $7 billion in buybacks in 2026.
2026 outlook
S&P Global expects 2026 revenue growth of 5.9% to 7.9%, excluding Mobility.
The company sees 2026 adjusted diluted EPS of $17.50 to $17.75.
S&P Global expects to repurchase more than $7 billion in shares in 2026.
