SQM, Wesfarmers back Mt Holland lithium expansion, lift output to 760,000 tonnes a year

The scope covers mine expansion, concentrator upgrades, a second concentrator, and integrated ore sorting to lift volumes and cut unit costs.
Construction of the second concentrator is expected to start in H2 2027; first expanded production is expected in H1 2030.
SQM’s share of capital spending is estimated at USD 450 million to USD 500 million.
Mt Holland expansion gets final investment decision
SQM, with Wesfarmers, reached a final investment decision to expand the Mt Holland lithium project in Australia.
The expansion targets nameplate spodumene concentrate output of 760,000 tonnes per year, up from about 580,000 tonnes, at 5.5% Li2O.
