SS Innovations Conducts 4,500-Mile Robotic Gastrojejunostomy with Portable SSi MantrAsana Console
SS Innovations completed a live remote robotic gastrojejunostomy on May 2, with a surgeon in Perth operating on a patient in Indore over 4,500 miles using its portable SSi MantrAsana console and SSi Mantra system. The platform has executed over 170 cross-border telesurgeries featuring ultra-low latency connectivity and 4K visualization.
1. Landmark Telesurgery Execution
On May 2, Dr. Mohit Bhandari, President of IRCAD India, performed a live robotic gastrojejunostomy using SS Innovations’ systems, with the surgeon at the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in Perth and the patient in Indore, India, spanning more than 4,500 miles in real time.
2. SSi MantrAsana Console Features
The compact SSi MantrAsana tele-surgeon console offers a self-contained, chair-based design that requires minimal space, enables portability to various locations, and supports ultra-low latency connectivity, high-definition visualization and precise instrument control for remote procedures.
3. Telesurgery Track Record
Since deployment, the SSi Mantra surgical robotic system has supported over 170 telesurgeries, including complex cardiac procedures, demonstrating the platform’s reliability and scalability for cross-border surgical applications.
4. Growth and Accessibility Strategy
SS Innovations aims to democratize access to advanced robotic surgery by expanding its global footprint, leveraging cost-effective, user-friendly systems to reach a broader patient population and accelerate adoption of telesurgery services.
