At SMRSC 2026 in New Delhi, SS Innovations unveiled four robotic platforms, notably the SSi Vimana Aero surgical drone and SSi Operion mobile operating room. The Vimana Aero deploys via drone with two 5-mm, seven-degree-of-freedom arms for field trauma; the Operion uses a zero-footprint, overhead-integrated chassis for remote deployment.

1. SMRSC 2026 Highlights

At SMRSC 2026 in New Delhi, SS Innovations hosted over 1,600 attendees and 1,800 virtual participants to showcase advancements in surgical robotics across multiple specialties. The three-day event included 10 live telesurgeries, 13 live robotic surgeries and panels spanning urology to pediatrics.

2. SSi Vimana Aero Drone System

The SSi Vimana Aero drone system features two seven-degree-of-freedom arms equipped with 5-millimeter instruments, deployable by heavy-lift drone to deliver remote trauma care. It enables field procedures such as hemorrhage control, wound repair and chest decompression under remote surgeon control through the SSi Mantra command center.

3. SSi Operion, Avtara and Single-Arm Carts

The SSi Operion mobile OR employs a zero-footprint, overhead-integrated chassis for 360-degree clinician access and rapid deployment in combat or disaster zones. The conceptual SSi Avtara humanoid platform aims to leverage AI and teleoperation for versatile surgical tasks, while single-arm endoscopy and ultrasound carts are undergoing clinical validation in India.
