Standard Lithium expands Trafigura offtake deal to up to 12,000 tonnes a year
SLI•Standard Lithium amended its binding offtake agreement with Trafigura for the South West Arkansas project, raising maximum take-or-pay volumes to 12,000 metric tonnes of lithium carbonate a year from commercial production. Total potential offtake commitments reach 20,000 tonnes a year, while the company continues work toward a roughly $1.1 billion financing package.
1. Expanded offtake agreement
The amendment adds an option for Trafigura to take up to 4,000 metric tonnes a year for 10 years, on top of the existing 8,000 tonnes. Total potential offtake commitments reach 20,000 metric tonnes a year, exceeding the 18,000-tonne target for initial-phase capacity. Standard Lithium said project financing work continues toward a senior secured, limited-recourse debt package of around $1.1 billion.
