Standard Lithium outlined plans to reach final investment decision for its South West Arkansas direct lithium extraction project by year-end 2026.
First commercial production is targeted in 2029; initial capacity is set at 22,500 tpa of lithium carbonate.
Project economics on a 100% basis: pre-tax NPV of USD 1.7 billion, pre-tax IRR of 20%, total capex of USD 1.45 billion, and average cash opex of USD 4,516/t.
DOE grant funding totals USD 225 million; the first binding offtake has been signed with Trafigura for over 40% of targeted volumes.
