Smackover Lithium, Standard Lithium's partnership with Equinor, amended its Trafigura offtake agreement for the South West Arkansas lithium project on September 28, 2026. The 10-year agreement allows optional additional deliveries of 4,000 metric tons annually, raising maximum take-or-pay volumes to 12,000 metric tons a year.
Total potential offtake commitments reached 20,000 metric tons annually, exceeding the 18,000-metric-ton target. The commitments enable finalization of a targeted $1.1 billion senior secured, limited recourse debt financing package. Smackover Lithium targets a final investment decision in 2026 and first commercial production of battery-quality lithium carbonate in 2029.
