Stantec acquired Niche, a 200-person environmental consultancy based in Sydney, including its wholly owned subsidiary Ausecology.
The deal expands Stantec’s environmental services footprint in Australia, lifting its local team to nearly 450 professionals across every mainland state.
Niche adds capabilities in ecology, heritage, natural capital, land restoration and biodiversity consulting, strengthening support for permitting and biodiversity planning.
The transaction broadens exposure to Australian energy transition and infrastructure markets, with Niche serving about 200 clients with limited overlap.
