Stantec-Jacobs JV Secures Five-Year Western Melbourne Water Infrastructure Program
STN•Stantec’s joint venture with Jacobs won a five-year Greater Western Water Infrastructure Planning and Delivery Program covering water and sewer design across rapidly growing western Melbourne. The team will provide option assessments, detailed designs for treatment plants and dams, groundwater and surface water analyses, and construction support to bolster resilience.
1. Selection for Major Western Melbourne Water Program
The Greater Western Water board has appointed Stantec’s joint venture with Jacobs to deliver a five-year Infrastructure Planning and Delivery Program in western Melbourne, where population is forecast to more than double by 2050, challenging existing water and sewer networks.
2. Comprehensive Engineering and Advisory Scope
Under the agreement, the JV will conduct option assessments, functional and detailed designs for water and wastewater systems, treatment plants, dams, groundwater and surface water evaluations, discharge quality analysis, and construction support.
3. Strategic Impact on Stantec's Portfolio
This contract secures multi-year revenue visibility for Stantec, expanding its global water infrastructure portfolio alongside initiatives in Southeast Queensland and Scotland and strengthening its position in sustainable engineering markets.
