Steel operations operating income rose 30% to USD 721 million; average external selling price increased USD 105 to USD 1,298 per ton.
Aluminum startup operating loss narrowed 48% to USD 33 million; shipments increased to 53,000 metric tons, hot band production reached 84,000 metric tons.
Record steel shipments totaled 3,741,340 tons; the quarter included USD 200 million in share repurchases, USD 77 million in dividends.
