Steel Dynamics releases 2025 GHG emissions verification report

Steel Dynamics released a limited-assurance verification of calendar 2025 Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions under ISO 14064-3:2019.
Verified Scope 1 emissions totaled 2,970,588 metric tons CO2e, including 2,211,046 from steel mills.
Verified Scope 2 emissions were 3,289,895 metric tons CO2e location-based, or 1,665,539 metric tons CO2e market-based.
A separate limited-assurance review covered steel mills’ Scope 3, verifying 6,063,216 metric tons CO2e across selected categories.
The verifier reported no evidence the emissions totals were not a fair representation of underlying data.
