Stellantis Launches Luxembourg AV Pilot Integrating Gen-7 Vehicles on L4 Platform
STLA•Stellantis has teamed with Bolt and Pony.ai to launch a Luxembourg pilot deploying Pony.ai’s Gen-7 autonomous vehicles integrated into Stellantis midsize vans on its Level 4-Ready Platform. The living lab will evaluate urban deployment safety, fleet operations, ride-hailing integration and regulatory coordination to achieve driverless readiness.
1. Pilot Launch and Partners
Stellantis has initiated a joint autonomous vehicle pilot in Luxembourg alongside Bolt and Pony.ai, deploying Pony.ai’s Gen-7 self-driving technology integrated into Stellantis-built midsize vans on its Level 4-Ready Platform. Bolt contributes its ride-hailing infrastructure, establishing the operational framework for real-world urban services.
2. Testing Objectives and Scope
The living lab will assess safety, performance and regulatory readiness by evaluating vehicle deployment processes, ride-hailing platform integration, fleet operations and coordination with local authorities. Partners aim to reach full driverless readiness before the programme concludes, benchmarking metrics across live city traffic.
3. Strategic Implications for Stellantis
This pilot expands Stellantis’ European autonomous mobility ecosystem and reinforces its L4-Ready Platform strategy, following prior collaborations with technology and ride-hailing firms. The initiative positions Stellantis to scale driverless mobility services in urban markets, leveraging partner expertise and modular vehicle architecture.
