Stellantis, Wayve and Uber sign MoU for global Level 4 robotaxi services
STLA•Stellantis signed a non-binding MoU with Wayve and Uber to jointly explore development and global deployment of Level 4 driverless robotaxi services using Stellantis’ L4-ready vehicle platforms with embedded sensor suites. Wayve will provide region-agnostic AI driving software and Uber will integrate vehicles into its booking network for city rollouts.
1. Partnership Framework
Stellantis, Wayve and Uber signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to establish a joint framework for developing, licensing, producing and procuring Level 4 driverless robotaxi services at global scale. This agreement formalizes collaboration on technology integration, testing and validation while preserving each company’s right to pursue separate autonomous driving initiatives.
2. Role of Each Partner
Stellantis will engineer and manufacture vehicles on its L4-ready platforms equipped with embedded sensor suites. Wayve will supply AI-based autonomous driving software capable of city-agnostic navigation without region-specific mapping or re-engineering, and Uber will deploy those vehicles through its global mobility network.
3. Deployment and Expansion Plans
The partnership builds on existing bilateral projects and aims to initiate autonomous ride services in multiple cities across Europe, North America and Asia. Future agreements will set timelines and targets for city rollouts, vehicle procurement volumes and commercial launch phases.
