- STMicroelectronics launched a four-year ST-NUS HELIX Corporate Lab with National University of Singapore to advance edge AI hardware.
- Program targets generative, embodied AI at the edge via memory-centric architectures, in-memory computing, scalable compute-memory systems.
- Research will use ST’s P18 18nm FD-SOI platform with embedded phase-change memory to cut power-hungry off-chip data movement.
- ST will provide NUS a dedicated design chassis in its proprietary P18 process to speed validation of AI accelerator concepts.
- Initiative is supported under Singapore’s RIE2025 plan, aiming to strengthen local semiconductor R&D capability, talent development.
